Who we are
Accessibility is not a checkbox. It's a capability.
AccessibleMe is a specialist consultancy. We help organisations move beyond compliance anxiety and towards embedded, confident, inclusive practice.
Our mission
To make digital accessibility the norm, not the exception โ in every team, every product, every organisation.
We believe accessibility is a fundamental human right. When digital products exclude people, that's not a technical oversight โ it's a failure of design thinking. We exist to change that, one organisation at a time.
Our story
Born from frustration. Built for change.
AccessibleMe was founded because accessibility kept getting treated as an afterthought. A late-stage audit. A compliance tick. A legal liability to manage.
We'd seen it too many times โ teams who genuinely wanted to do the right thing, but lacked the knowledge, the time, or the organisational support to embed accessibility properly.
So we built a consultancy that focuses on the why and how just as much as the what. We don't just report issues โ we build the capability in your teams to prevent them.
Today, AccessibleMe works with financial services, events, media, and education clients across the UK and beyond โ helping them move from reactive remediation to proactive, confident inclusion.
Why it matters
Over 16 million people in the UK live with a disability. Globally, that figure is over 1.3 billion. These are your customers, your employees, your users.
The purple pound โ the spending power of disabled people and their households โ is estimated at ยฃ274 billion annually in the UK alone. Inaccessible products don't just fail people. They leave money on the table.
And with the European Accessibility Act coming into force in 2025, regulatory pressure is increasing across every sector.
What we stand for
Our values
Practical over theoretical
We work in the real world โ with real deadlines, real budgets, and real teams. Our guidance is grounded in what actually works in practice, not just what looks good in a WCAG document.
Partnership, not policing
We're not here to catch you out. We're here to help you succeed. That means working alongside your teams with empathy and respect, meeting people where they are.
Capability-building first
A one-off audit only fixes yesterday's problems. We focus on building the knowledge, processes, and culture so your teams can get it right going forward.
Evidence-led
Everything we recommend is grounded in standards โ WCAG 2.2, EN 301 549, the EAA โ and tested with real assistive technology, not just automated tools.
Human-centred always
Accessibility is about people. We never lose sight of that. Disabled users are not edge cases โ they are part of every audience, every product, every team.
Ambitious for change
We're not satisfied with "good enough." We want to see accessibility become a default expectation โ built in from the start, owned by every team, not outsourced to specialists alone.
Expertise you can trust
How we work
Testing methodology
We conduct manual audits with real assistive technology โ NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack โ alongside automated tools like axe-core and browser extensions. No audit is based on automation alone.
Standards alignment
All our work is mapped to WCAG 2.2 AA as a minimum. We also advise on EN 301 549 compliance, the European Accessibility Act, and UK Equality Act obligations.
Training and enablement
Our consultants are experienced educators as well as technical specialists. We design learning experiences โ including A11yShip โ that shift culture, not just skills.
Recognised work
Our work has been shortlisted for industry awards and recognised by clients across financial services, events, and technology sectors. We're proud of the impact our partners achieve.
